Dr Kirstie Fleetwood Meade
Chartered Counselling Psychologist | Executive Coach | Embodied Yoga Teacher & Movement Facilitator | Founder
What do i offer?
I blend psychology, life coaching, meditation, breathing and embodied yoga practices together for a holistic approach to the body-mind.
I have a small number of spaces for 1:1 coaching and therapy; either face-to-face in Bristol, and online services for clients worldwide.
I also support a variety of businesses with their mental health and coaching needs: from 1:1 support for your team, to mind-body training to promote psychological resilience in your organisation. I’m also available for a range of workshops, events, panel talks and summits.
I’m particularly passionate about working with women and facilitating their connection to their inner power and intuition and creating the confidence to take up the space they deserve. Whether it’s helping you succeed in your career, as a mum, manage anxiety or trauma, or help with your ADHD, I’d love to work with you.
How can I help you?
As a holistic psychologist, I am trained in a wide variety of evidence-based therapeutic approaches, which can be tailored for your individual needs and preferences. I predominately draw on compassion-focused therapy (CFT), psychodynamic approaches, creative and somatic / body-based approaches, and EMDR.
I am also trained in and draw upon: person centred, cognitive-behaviour therapy (CBT), systemic (family therapy), and acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT). My doctorate research is in equine-assisted therapy, but unfortunately there aren’t many horses in central Bristol!
I strive to create a warm, safe and empathic space for people from all backgrounds, where you will feel able to explore your current difficulties without judgement.
More about me and my background
I previously lived and worked in London for 6 years where I completed my doctorate, worked in both the NHS and third sector, and set up my first private practice (London Counselling Psychology). At the start of 2017 I left the UK for nearly 3 years, to work and travel around the world. This trip included yoga trainings in north and south India, a 10-day silent meditation retreat in South Africa, teaching yoga on the Kenyan coast and a year volunteering in Uganda’s only dedicated mental health hospital, where I worked with children, as well as teaching and supervising university psychology students. I’m passionate about travel and learning new things. I regularly engage in continued professional development in a variety of ways, in both psychology and yoga.
I returned to Bristol to set up a new private practice, and work in the NHS. As of 2020 I work exclusively in my own private practice, and in 2022 I took on 3 associates to work alongside me, each bringing different and yet complimentary approaches to mind-body work. I love the varied nature of my work: from individual therapy to group coaching, corporate work to festivals, talking therapies to yoga and movement. I have AD(H)D and am interested in supporting other women in this area, particularly those with a late diagnosis.
Outside of work, I love wild swimming, dance and free movement, travel, and plant-based cake. I live in central Bristol with my husband and our little boy.
