Having immersed myself in the fundamentals of classical Ashtanga, I now teach a playful, flowing, embodied-style vinyasa class, encouraging students to connect to their own intuitive styles of movement and inner wisdom, rather than focusing on precise shapes.
I found my way to yoga through the realisation that due to our fast paced, busy lives, we often live in our heads - which means we miss important information our bodies are trying to tell us. As a psychologist, I found embodied yoga practices to be the perfect bridge between yoga and psychology, facilitating psychological self-awareness through somatic explorations. I aim to teach 'yoga for your life', weaving in meditation, breathing exercises, and aspects of mental wellbeing and self-inquiry to be used both on and off the yoga mat.
Kirstie is a 300hr teacher, having completed a variety of different trainings, courses and workshops. Kirstie is currently completing her 500hr advanced yoga teacher training in Embodied Flow™ with Tara Judelle and Dr Scott Lyons.
